Fleas Navidad

Hi, Inky Friends! I have a super cute, super fast card for you today.

This cute little pug stamp is from Technique Junkies (Pug - SD230).

I gave him a Christmas theme by hand-drawing and snipping a santa hat.  The pug stamp was stamped all over the kraft cardstock base using Stampin' Up! Close to Cocoa. Then the pug was stamped on a separate piece of kraft cardstock with Archival Ink in Coffee. He and the hat were fussy-cut and foam taped on the base.

A simple computer generated sentiment mounted on red cardstock finished off this quick card!

If you'd like more inspiration or to get a great deal on some Christmas Stamps (25% off until December 15th), head on over to Technique Junkies today!

Thanksgiving Inspiration

Hi, Inky Friends! Today I'm sharing a card I made for Thanksgiving. It features the Nature Background Stamp (#S431) from Technique Junkies.  This versatile stamp works well for fall or Thanksgiving cards, but would also be great for a spring or summer theme, tropical background, or jungle style card.

To make this card, I stamped the image using Versamark ink and heat embossed it with some copper embossing powder.  For the beautiful colors on the background, I used Distress Inks. Simply select a few colors and stamp them randomly on your craft mat. Spray with water, then place your stamped image face down in the "puddle".

After it dried, I trimmed it down, I wrapped some festive ribbon and bow vertically on the panel. I then mounted it with foam tape onto some handmade brown paper. That panel was then mounted on a kraft card base and a vinyl sentiment was added.

Hope you like my card and are inspired to try this type of background for yourself!

Til next time,

November New Release Blog Hop for Technique Junkies

Hellooooo, Inky Friends! Welcome to the Technique Junkies Blog Hop featuring the new November releases!

B L O G   H O P

If you have arrived here from the very talented Kathy Stacey, then you are on the right track. If you've stumbled on me from elsewhere, you're going to want to start at the very beginning (it's a very good place to start) with Technique Junkies. After you have scrolled down through my post, you will see the links for the whole hop!

I have several projects to share with you today!  First up are a couple of cards that will make you want to run and get a cuppa!

I started with chocolate brown bases for both cards. I then stamped the Coffee Beans (S606) background on two pieces of cardstock using Versamark ink and embossed using a brown embossing powder.  I trimmed the pieces and adhered them to the card bases.

For the Runnin' On Coffee card, I used my Silhouette to cut the coffee cup and sentiment. I assembled those and adhered them to the card base.  Using Coffee Archival Ink (appropriate, right???), I stamped the Coffee Gauge (SD703). I used the MISTI so I could stamp over the image several times and get a nice, crisp image. Using a white gel pen, I highlighted the light parts of the image. The image was then cut out and foam taped to the front of the card.

For the Coffee with Friends card, I used the Coffee Archival Ink to stamp Coffee With Friends (SD7034) on a piece of yellow cardstock and trimmed it down. Again, I used the MISTI to ensure a crisp image.  I attached a piece of yellow ribbon and some bling. Then I used foam tape to adhere the main focal point of the card.

This next card features the Typewriter Set (SS064).  This set has this adorable typewriter and several sentiments to accompany it.

On a black card base, I attached a red panel and three Stickles dots. I stamped the Sparkles (S536) background with Versamark ink and heat embossed using silver embossing powder. I trimmed and attached that panel to the card base and added some random red Stickles to some of the stars.

Using the MISTI, I stamped the Typewriter with black ink and repeated the stamping until I had a crisp image. Using Versamark and red embossing powder, I stamped my selected image onto the paper area on the typewriter. I then fussy cut the image and attached it to the panel with foam tape.

Next up is a Christmas Tag Card featuring the Snow Swirls (S726) and Snowflakes Fall (SD760) stamps.

I think this background is quickly becoming one of my favorites! I can't seem to get enough of it!  For this card, I did it more like a tag (there is no "inside"). I used some red glitter cardstock for the base.  Using the Snow Swirls (S726) background stamp, I inked it with Versamark and stamped it on some clear acetate, then embossed it with white embossing powder.  I punched two holes near the top of the acetate and base and tied the two pieces together with some pretty layered ribbons.

I again used Versamark ink to stamp the Snowflakes Fall (SD760) stamp on some red cardstock and used a die to cut out the shape.  I then added some Wink of Stella to the diecut piece and attached that to the top of the acetate. I think this will be a beautiful addiction to a special Christmas gift.

Well, that's all I have for you today. But be sure to visit every Design Team member along the Blog Hop. Tone on Tone with Technique Junkies

Hey, Inky Friends! So happy you are here to join me!

Today I am sharing an extremely quick and easy card using tone on tone.  Actually, this blog post took me longer to write than it did to make this beautiful card!

Using just two stamp sets, this card ended up being absolutely stunning.

I first stamped the Birches stamp (Technique Junkies #S686) onto some ivory cardstock using Versamark and my MISTI.  I heat embossed with some tan flecked embossing powder.  I then cut the piece to 3 7/8" x 5 1/8".

This background can be used for so many events. Dress it up for Christmas, darken it up for a scary Halloween background, or keep it simple like I did for this card.

I cut another piece of ivory cardstock and, using Memento Ink (Toffee Crunch), stamped the inside sentiment from the With Sympathy Set (Technique Junkies #SS049).  I have to say that this set has some of the most beautiful sentiments for bereavement cards.

On another scrap of ivory cardstock, I stamped "Our Deepest Condolences" from the With Sympathy Set (Technique Junkies #SS049) using Versamark ink. I heat embossed that with the tan embossing powder and cut it down to a banner 3/4" x 5 1/4".

Using foam mounting tape, I adhered the background to an A2 card made from the same ivory cardstock. The sentiment banner was then foam taped onto the background. The inside sentiment panel was adhered to the inside of the card.

Now this beautiful card will convey to someone how much we care about them and their loved ones.

I hope I inspired you today. If you'd like to see more of what Technique Junkies has to offer, just visit THIS LINK!

My Studio Tour

Last week I was busy moving my "studio" from one room in my house to another, little bigger, room. This is the third move for this crafting space. What started out as supplies shoved into a mobile cart many years ago, is now in what I hope to be a more permanent space.

After my son and daughter-in-law moved next door, I claimed "dibs" on the space. I laid the floor (all by myself!) and, with hubby's help, installed counter tops and new power outlets. Just waiting for him to finish the electric hook-up. I moved all the furniture myself and got everything pretty much the way I want it. There are still a few straggling items in the old room I have to sort through and stow, but I'm so happy in my new space! I actually have space to spread out my vinyl projects now. And I have a lot of space to spread out making cards and other crafty projects.

I thought you might enjoy a little tour of my studio.

Well, that's my new little space! Would love to see your comments!

So, I have been a little on the lurking side and not so much on the posting side lately when it comes to the blog world. Well, that is all about to change!

I won't tell you how much I spent at the show...just know I came home with a LOT of new "stuff" which I will be happily using for my new projects. I can't wait to share with you!

On that note, I am excited to share the Technique Junkies Newsletter.  It features the project that I demo'd for Pat. Just click the link.

HAPPY BLOGIVERSARY TO ME!

I have been blogging for six years! I didn't do anything to celebrate any of the other blogiversaries (that I can remember), so I thought I'd do something fun this year.

I recently got the Crazy Cats stamp set (Tim Holtz) and I am in love with them! What's really great is that all the accessories from the Crazy Birds work with the cats too! I love it when stamps are versatile like that.

So I was playing the other day with my new set and whipped up four cute little cards.

Aren't they fun? Between the cats, the washi tape and the enamel dots, I think they turned out very bright and festive. I'm going to list them as a set on my FB page (Toodle Noodle Creative).

Here is a close-up of each card and the coordinating inside.

Most of the sentiment stamps are from Unity and Mama Elephant. Coloring was done with Zig Clean Color Markers (I LOVE THESE).

Hope you enjoyed hearing from me. It's been a while. Would love some feedback. If you have thoughts of what you'd like to see, I'd love to hear that as well.

Til next time, keepin' it crafty!
